Description:

The week starts with Mercury entering the sign of Aquarius, so ideas fly all over the place. You can feel an excitement with this placement we want to explore and talk about things that may not always hold an interest for us, its also a great time to come up with unique solutions for long term issues.
Mid week Venus and Mars make contact, that is always a signal that love is in the air, but the contact is an opposition so you may find you need to really work hard at any relationships you want to peruse. Misunderstandings and tensions are short lived but can feel intense.
Then the planet Neptune takes center stage this week. He is entering the sing of Pisces for a 14 year time frame, the last time Neptune was in Pisces, except for a short stay last summer, was in the mid 1800’s, so this is a big event. I have talked about this transit in a few newsletters and will be following up on this with something just about this transit. But in general, Pisces and Virgo planets in the early degree’s of the sign are going to have a strong dose of Neptune energy. This can feel a little unnerving, it can also be more emotional you feel things more than you usually do. Neptune energy is not a grounded energy so it can have you feeling out of sorts or spacey for a while. Neptune can help the skeptic learn trust. We will all take a collective deep breath and at times may feel like we are on a path with no real end in sight until we get use to this new energy. The changes we see under Neptune will not be as harsh as the many changes we have had over the last couple of years, but we will realize a slow movement towards looking at life differently, this can happen on a personal level, but more importantly it will happen in the collective consciousness of the human race.
The things that will be highlighted during the next 14 years are, we will start to look at our Oceans more seriously, we may find they are more damaged than we realize. We will also see new drugs come out that can alleviate suffering I also think we will start to have a change in end of life care and treatments. Drugs that are now illegal may become legalized, especially marijuana.
Neptune is the planet that wants to save and help everyone, so we may see an uptick in humanity wanting to help those who are less fortunate, we will surely see a different attitude towards those who suffer any sort of injustice.

Description:

On Tuesday Jan 24 the planet Mars will go retrograde, and stay that way until April 14, 2012. This means earth is moving fast enough in orbit to leave Mars looking, from our vantage point on earth, as if it’s moving backwards. Of course Mars is not moving backwards, so we will retrograde motion an apparent backwards motion. In astrology when a planet is retrograde it does not work as well as it does when it’s moving at its normal pace, things that planet represents seem to not work out as well. Each planet has a retrograde cycle; the one for Mars is about every 25 months or every two years. The sign the retrograde planet is in become important during this time period as the energy of that sign is strongly affected by the planets lack of forward motion. For this retrograde cycle the planet Mars is in Virgo so:
Mars, the warrior God, represents our ability to move forward, our ability to assert ourselves and our ability to get things done, the sign Virgo is the sign of the craftsman, the sign of health and the sign of the working man and military. Putting this energy together can mean that the average working person or the average person living the average life feels very frustrated and disempowered. It can also mean temporary setbacks for the everyday goals of the general population, not just in the United States but worldwide. It can also mean our military and other militaries make hollow threats or don’t have the capabilities they would like to have to move forward. So in general we feel a frustration during this time period.
We may also see this as time period when health issues come to the forefront, such as the outbreak of a disease such as the flu. We may also hear setbacks for organizations that are doing what they can to help the impoverished fight disease that could be easily combated in progressive countries.
On a more personal level we may experience this time period difficulty in our work environments, we may find work very frustrating on many levels, our bosses may be overly critical or expect us to do more than we possibly can, co-workers may be passive aggressive and more annoying than usual. It’s not unusual to feel anxious during a period like this, but when you understand the cycles of the planets you can understand this is all temporary and will pass. Sometimes we need to be forced to slow down so we can really pay attention to what we are doing. Mars in Virgo is the perfectionist the artistic craftsman that needs time to go over what he is creating, so this time period is a great time for introspection. Instead of feeling slighted by those who seem a little hostile look at what has them feeling that way, maybe it’s something that can help you improve your life. There is a saying “Don’t left the perfect be the energy of the good”. Maybe you dwell too much of the small matters and need to look at the larger picture, only slowing down and facing what is not working allows you that insight
So during this time frame, which will have its frustrations, focus on what is needed to take actions that matter in your life, this is a great time to plan and research. You also need to learn patience as this is a time period that will force it on you, we have become very much an instant gratification society, Mars retrograde does not allow that to happen, you will have to wait for results and answers.
Take deep breaths when others push your buttons and know they are feeling powerless right now, everyone is.

Health is based in the trinity of Mind, Body, and Spirit, not just how we look on the outside.

This workshop will coincide with the New Moon in Libra, which takes place on September 27 - this will give you a chance to use the power of this moon to your advantage! New Moons are all about beginning things, planting seeds and starting something new. So each month when we have a New Moon we have an opportunity to begin something, in general we can just use the day of the New Moon to make the plan that needs to be made to get us where we want to get. But we can also fine tune the use of energy through the understanding of the astrological signs. Using the energy that the New Moon brings with it makes our job of creating or beginning something that much easier. Each month Lonni recommends we use the time of the New Moon to quiet our minds and focus on not just what we want but how the energy of the New Moon is working in our lives, or how we would like it to work in our lives.

Lonni has been an astrologist for over 40 years, and is extremely knowledgeable in how it can be used as a tool to heal us on many levels. This week is dominated by the entry of Neptune into the sign of Pisces. The further from the Sun a planet is the longer it takes that planet to travel through the zodiac, in Neptune's case it takes 164 years to travel through all of the signs, and it spends approximately 14 years in each sign of the zodiac. So from an astrological viewpoint this is an important transition. Neptune in Pisces is a gentle energy and can take the edge off some of the pressure and stress Uranus and Pluto have been causing. On Tuesday February 7th we have our Full Moon at 4:54 PM EST. Full Moon’s are always about letting go of what we no longer need. They also tend to bring up emotions and feeling we like to hide from, so often we get more emotional or more sensitive during these times. This Full Moon occurs in the signs of Leo and Aquarius, the planet Mercury is very important to this Full Moon as it joins the Sun on that day, so we can expect some mix ups in communications. Be careful what you say and how you say it. The Leo Aquarius polarity is about how you feel about yourself and express yourself in relation to how you see others and interact with them. It’s a time to let go of not allowing yourself to be who you are, embrace and love who you are not who you think you should be. Where this Full Moon falls in your chart will also affect how it influences you personally.
On Wednesday Venus enters the sign of Aries. Venus does not enjoy being in the sign of Aries, since Venus is the planet of love and relationships, Aries is the energy of the warrior. So in Aries Venus can be a little aggressive, she knows what she wants and goes after it, but its not comfortable for her, Venus would much rather use subtle and seductive ways to seduce. What this can mean in General is relationships are a little combative this is a time when we challenge each other the gentle and affectionate side of love may not be apparent, so if your significant other seems a little cold or a little uncaring don’t take it personal the energy right now is not overly sensitive. This is especially true for Libra and Cancer.
On Thursday Venus conjuncts the planet Uranus, this is a wild and exciting energy. On a positive level it can push us to take a chance and that chance will pay off. We feel like doing something different and new and just want to have fun. The less positive side of this energy is we may want to party to much, may not take the feelings of others into consideration. We may meet someone really exciting, but this is not a lasting energy so we may regret any commitment made at this time. This is especially true for the fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.
Saturn also goes retrograde this week, one of the more difficult sides of this energy is areas where we have made head way in business projects or even just projects around the house, may slow down or we may find things just don’t move forward as well as we would like. Those born at the end of the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will be the most affected.
